Recording Presence in the Event Manager
The attendance list lets you record which participants attended an event. For each participant, you can document presence and add remarks if needed.
The attendance list can be filled out starting from the start time of the respective event date. For event date groups, this applies separately to each date. Once you have recorded attendance, the event date is considered Passed for the participant. The event is set to Finished in the course’s learning path, provided there are no remaining subsequent dates still open.
How to record presence as an author in the backend:
1
Go to Event management → Overview of event date or Overview by event date group and click the Event title to open the Event Manager for a date.
2
Go to the Attendance list tab. To mark all visible participants as present, you can use the button.

Alternatively, activate the checkmark in the Present column for each participant who attended.
3
The following options are available under Status.
Passed
This status is assigned automatically when you set a participant to Present. The Passed status ensures that the event is marked as completed on the learning path. This is especially relevant when the event is a mandatory element (Edit mode Passing or Edit). You can also select this status manually even though a participant was not present. This causes the date to be considered Passed despite the absence, for example when the date is followed up using a recording.
Not Attempted
This status is used to document a user’s progress or participation in an event. It serves as a kind of placeholder to indicate that the participant is registered but has not yet shown any activity. The status can be adjusted during the course of the event or afterward.
Not Passed
The Not Passed status can be used to indicate that a participant was present but did not pass the event.
If the course is set so that the Edit mode for this event is Pass (as opposed to Mandatory), the course is considered not completed.

If needed, you can further comment on the status using the Note column. These options are available to you:
Present
- Arrived punctually
- Arrived late
- Left too early
Absent
- Excused absence
- Unexcused absence
- Participant canceled registration
- Superior canceled registration
Remark
If needed, fill in the remark field with additional notes, e.g. requested a recording.
5
Once you have entered all presences, click Save attendance list. You will receive a confirmation of the process.
6
Now you can click Mark the date as closed. This changes the event date status to Closed.

If you want to adjust presences afterward, you can use the button to mark it as active at any time and make adjustments.
