Clients
In Avendoo, clients serve to maintain order and divide users into different visibility and rights levels. In general, clients can be viewed as drives in the system on which content, activations, and users are stored. The differentiation between content and user clients enables a fundamental separation of the instructional material from personal data of the learners, such as master data, learning progress, or test results.
Each user is always assigned to a client, whereby authors can be assigned to further clients in order to access them.
Variants of clients
In Avendoo, the basic properties of a client are used to determine whether course activations, users, authors, and content can be created. This allows various scenarios to be realized.
User- and Activation-client
This is where the users and course activations are located. The Activation-clients also determine the appearance of the front end and thus contribute significantly to the user experience. By using multiple share clients, different corporate designs, for example, can be mapped.
Content-client
This is where the learning content (instructional material, knowledge tests, etc.) of the system is located. Usually, the authors are also stored in the content client so that they have direct access to the client.
Combination-Client
There is also the Combination Client as a hybrid form of Activation- and Content-client. However, this is used less frequently.
Advantages of Multiple Activation-clients
By using multiple Activation-clients, different organizations, branches, groups, etc., can be mapped with their own corporate design within a single Avendoo instance.
- With the Multi-client System, multiple designs and user interfaces can be displayed in parallel in a single system.
- With the “Change user” option, users and authors can switch seamlessly between clients if they have the appropriate permissions.
- Manage all Learning content and the entire seminar administration of different organizations, branches, groups, etc. with just one author login.
- Restrict access or create Permission groups for co-authors who are intended to help with content creation but are not allowed to see personal data.
- Manage media centrally and exchange identical images in a wide variety of Instructional material with a single click.
In summary, the Avendoo client system makes it possible to map a wide variety of use cases, corporate groups, and learner groups cleanly and in compliance with data protection regulations using just a single instance. The interaction between Content- and Activation-client reduces redundancies in the creation and usage of content and allows for efficient content creation that is separated from the actual activation for learners.
