Migration import
With the Migration import, you can transfer both past and future event dates and the associated participants from an external system to Avendoo. The data is provided in a CSV file and, during import, matched to existing base objects in Avendoo. The participants specified in the CSV file must already be available as users in Avendoo and are matched based on their user name.
The Migration import is used to continue participants’ learning journey in Avendoo. For example, events that have already been completed can be transferred so that renewed participation and the associated recertification can take place in Avendoo.
1
Navigate to Learning content → Import and select Migration import.
The wizard Migration import opens.
2
Select the CSV file containing the data you want to transfer to Avendoo.
The following information is required for the import:
- Event title in the original language
- Start date and start time
- End date and end time
- Speaker as the user name of an author account
- Event date language
- Event participant as user name
Then define the Character code and the Delimiter: used.
By default, the following settings are used:
- Character code: ISO-8859-1
- Delimiter: semicolon
3
Switch to the Matching tab.
Select the Date format, the Time format, and the Original language of your import file.
Then match the columns of your CSV file to the corresponding fields in Avendoo. This defines which column the respective information is taken from. This includes, for example, Event title, start and end date, start and end time, speaker, town, address, room, event date language, and event participant. Information on event and course certificates can also be matched.
If your CSV file does not contain information for a required field, you can define a Default value for the relevant fields.
4
Switch to the Preview tab.
Here you can see how many rows can be processed correctly and which rows contain errors. Check incorrect posts and, if necessary, correct your CSV file or the settings under Matching.
In addition, possible overlapping event dates are displayed.
5
Switch to the Migration tab and select the base objects to be used for the migration.
To do so, match the required base objects for Event, Course, Course activation, and Event date.
If you want to use certificates, also select the corresponding base objects for the Event certificate or Course certificate.
6
Then start the migration.
Based on the selected base objects and the information in the CSV file, Avendoo creates the corresponding objects and registers the specified participants for the event dates.
If an imported date is in the past, it is assigned the status Carried out. Future dates are assigned the status Active.
