Translate media

If you provide learning content for multilingual target groups, it may be necessary to also translate integrated media. This includes, for example, PDF documents, graphics with text content or other embedded media.
In this guide, we will show you how to create and translate such media in Avendoo in another language.

1

Go to Learning ContentMedia.

2

Click on the globe symbol for the desired medium. The translation area will open.

3

Under the Language versions tab, select the language for which you want to create a translation of the medium and click Do a translation.

4

The medium is now in the process of being translated. Click Edit.

5

Translate the title and description of the medium into the target language. You have two options for this:

  • Select Copy original and then manually translate the original text into the target language
  • Select Automatically translate original to translate the original text using a translation plugin (e.g. OpenAI).

6

To translate the medium, select Select file or drag and drop the file in the target language into the window via Drag & Drop.

7

When the translation is complete, check the box for the target language and Save.

8

When you are satisfied with your translation, select Language versions and check Completed.

Prerequisite

  • Author account with the permission Media: Change, create and General: Show, create and edit translations
  • The Automatically translate original function requires the setup of a translation plugin.
