Search in the user area
The search in the user area of Avendoo is a powerful tool that helps you to find all relevant content quickly and efficiently. It is available on all pages in the frontend and searches the learning units that are on the learning place as well as the content that is available in the catalog.
Search input
Single or multiple search terms can be entered in the search.
Search for word component
When you enter a search term, all learning units containing the term in the title or teaser are displayed as a result.
Examples
Data → Find “Database basics” and “EU data protection basics”
Search multiple words
If several search terms are entered, all learning units containing one or more of the terms in the title or teaser are displayed as a result.
Examples
web engineering → Finds “web engineering” and “social engineering” and“webshop“
Exact search
If you enter search terms in quotation marks, only the learning units that contain the exact search terms are displayed as results.
Examples
“Database basics” → Only finds “Database basics”
“shop” → Find “Expert workshop” and “Portals and webshops“
Sorting the search results
The search results are sorted according to relevance. Avendoo weights the search results according to certain criteria (e.g. search term exists, search term is at the beginning/end, search term corresponds exactly to the title of a learning unit).
Example
The search for data protection shows the results in the following order:
- Data protection in everyday office life
- Data protection for employees
- EU data protection basics
- Home office: data protection and information security
Filtering the search results
You can filter the search results by clicking on Show filter. Then select the appropriate filter from the list. The filters take effect immediately and are saved – even if you switch to another page. The filters are only reset when you log out.
