Set up automatic updates and patches
With the Automatic patching and Automatic update options, you can specify on which days and at which times your system carries out updates automatically. This ensures that your system is always up to date.

Go to Administration → Updates.

Configure automatic patches:
- Select the days (e.g. Mondays and Wednesdays) on which a patch may be carried out.
- Enter the time period (e.g. 6 – 8 p.m.) during which the patch may be installed.
- Decide how many hours in advance you want to check whether new patches are available (e.g. 2 hours – this means that the check takes place at 4 pm).

- Select the days (e.g. Mondays and Wednesdays) on which an update may be carried out.
- Specify the time period (e.g. 6 – 8 p.m.) during which the update may be installed.

Save.
Note: The setting for automatic updates cannot be saved without activating automatic patching.
Selection options for automatic updates
Latest: The latest published version
Previous version: The version before the latest version
Oldest: The version before the previous version
No updates: No updates are updated automatically
Example: Assume that versions 18.30, 18.31 and 18.32 have been released. Then version 18.32 is the latest, 18.31 is the previous version and 18.30 is the oldest.
Prerequisite
Author account with the authorization Administration: Display updates and Manage updates.
